Page 164: "John de Dokwra became Constable of Rose Castle on 1st December 1404 on the appointment of Bp. Strickland."
Page 211: " Patent granted to John of Dokwra bt Bp. Strickland on 1 December 1404. The indenture, recited by inspeximus on Patent Roll, 10 Henry IV, Pt.i, m.22, has been printed by Nicolson and Burn in their "History of Cumberland" Vol 1, pp271-2.
The Patent was confirmed by the Prior (Thos. de Hoton) and Convent of Carlisle on 2nd December 1404, and by the Crown on 20 November 1408 (Cal. Pat. Rolls, Henry IV, vol.iv.28)"
