This is the last Will and testament of me Lydia Docwra of Lewisham in the County of Kent Spinster
ffirst I will and direct that my Executors hereinafter named do see that my body be buried in the Church yard of Woburn in the County of Bedford in the same Grave or as near thereto as may be in which that of my much lamented Mother lies interred and that my ffuneral be Conducted with the least expence and in the plainest manner possible and that the expence of such ffuneral and the Testamentary Expences together with all my just debts be fully paid and discharged by my said Executors as soon as conveniently may be after my decease
next I give devise and bequeath unto my Brother John Clerk Docwra of Lewisham aforesaid Esquire and Benjamin Rogers of the Town of Stafford Artist their heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns all and Singular my real Estate And also the Sum of Eight hundred Pounds Stock in the Long Annuities standing in my name in the Books of the Governor and Company of the Bank of England and all other my monies Household Goods and ffurniture Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever Upon the trust that they my said trustees shall and do as soon as conveniently may be after my decease sell and convert into money all and Singular my said real and Personal Estate in such manner as they shall think proper and do and shall pay out moiety or equal half part thereof unto my said Brother John Clerk Docwra his Executors Administrators or Assigns and as to the other or remaining moiety Upon trust that they my said trustees do and shall invest the same in Government Security or in such Sufficient real Security as they shall think proper and do and shall pay and apply the Produce Interest or Dividends thereof as the same shall acerne[?] unto my Sister Isabella Mandeville the Wife of Richard Mandeville of London in the County of Middlesex for and during the term of her natural life for her own Sole and Seperate use and benefit free from the Controul debts or Engagements of her present or any future Husband And I do hereby declare that the receipt and receipts of her the said Isabella Mandeville shall (notwithstanding her Coverture) be a good and Sufficient discharge to my said trustees for the same and from and immidiately after the decease of the said Isabella Mandeville Upon further trust to pay such produce Interest or dividends unto my said Brother John Clerk Docwra or his Assigns for and during the term of his natural life and from and immidiately after his decease then Upon trust that they my said trustees or the Survivor of them or the Executors Administrators or Assigns of such Survivor shall and do pay the principal monies as invested by them my said trustees in Government Security as aforesaid or transfer the Securities upon which the same may be placed unto my Nephew John Docwra Parry of Woburn aforesaid Gentleman or his Assigns in case he she shall be living at the time of the decease of the Survivor of them my said Sister Isabella Mandeville and John Clerk Docwra And in case my said Nephew shall not be then living then I do hereby will and direct such last mentioned Principal monies shall be paid and divided between and among such person or persons as would have been entitled to the same under the Statute of Distributions in case I had died Intestate
And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said John Clerk Docwra and Benjamin Rogers joint Executors of this my Will
And I do hereby authorise and empower my said trustees and Executors and the Survivor of them and the Executors Administrators and Assigns of such Survivor to deduct retain and reimburse to themselves of himself out of the monies which shall come to their hands by virtue of this my Will and such Costs Charges and Expences as they may respectively sustain or be put unto in and about the Execution of the trusts hereof
And I do hereby declare that my said trustees and Executors shall not be answerable or accoutable for any more monies than shall actually come to their hands or be received by them nor for any loss that shall happen to any of the trust monies unless the same shall happen by reason of their wilful neglect nor shall either of them be answerable or accountable for the acts deeds neglects or defaults of the other of them but each for his own acts deeds neglects or defaults only
And I do revoke and make void all other Wills by me at any time made and do declare this only to be my last Will and testament
In Witness whereof I the said testatrix have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and Seal the eleventh day of June in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and nineteen
