This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Docwra of the Plough Inn in the Town of Hertford in the County of Hertford and I do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following
ffirst I direct all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses to be fully paid and satisfied
and as to my real and personal Estates I give devise bequeath and dispose thereof as followeth that is to say all my freehold and copyhold Estates whatsoever and wheresoever in the County of Hertford or elsewhere that I may die possessed or become entitled and also all my monies household goods linen wearing apparel bedding furniture plate linen china and all other my personal Estate of what nature or kind soever I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Elizabeth Docwra to have and to hold all and singular my freehold and copyhold Estates with their and every of their appurtenances unto my Wife Elizabeth Docwra her heirs and assigns for ever
and also all my personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever I give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife for her sole and separate use and benefit with full power to dispose of the same as she my said Wife Elizabeth Docwra may under her last Will and Testament in writing direct limit or appoint whether sole or married
and I do hereby nominate and appoint my said Wife Elizabeth Docwra sole Executrix of this my Will and Testament hereby revoking all former or other Wills by me made In Witness whereof the said Thomas Docwra the Testator have sett my hand and seal this sixth day of June one thousand eight hundred and thirty five

Signed sealed and delivered published and declared to be the last Will and Testament of the Testator Thomas Docwra in the presence of us who have subscribed and sett our hands and names as Witnesses thereunto in the presence of the said Testator and in the presence of each other

This is a Codicil to the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Docwra late of the Plough Inn in the Town of Hertford but now of the Parish of Cheshunt in the County of Hertford Yeoman
Whereas by my said last Will and Testament bearing date on or about the sixth day of June one thousand eight hundred and thirty five I have nominated and appointed my Wife Elizabeth Docwra sole Executrix of my said Will
and whereas I am desirous that my son Thomas Docwra of Shirley in the County of Hants Engineer should be and Executor of my said Will jointly with my said Wife
Now therefore I do hereby appoint my said Wife Elizabeth Docwra and my said son Thomas Docwra to be Executrix and Executor of my said Will
and I hereby republish my said Will and confirm the same in every particular in which the same is not hereupon altered
In Witness whereof I the said Thomas Docwra have hereunto set my hand and seal this eleventh day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three

Proved at London with a Codicil 17th April 1844 before the Worshipful Augustus ffrederic Banford Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the Oath of Elizabeth Docwra Widow the Relict the Executrix named in the Will to whom Admon was granted having been first sworn duly to administer Power reserved of making the like Grant to Thomas Docwra the Son the Executor named in the Codicil when he shall apply for the same.
